Objectives:
Upon completion of this module, dialysis facility personnel will be able to:
recognize actions the facility should take in advance of any emergency event
engage in emergency planning, response, and recovery within the facility
discuss emergency planning with patients and engage them in developing at-home plans
apply the facility's emergency plan for response and recovery during an emergency event
identify best practices to prevent safety errors
engage patients and families to enhance their culture of safety
Activities Required for Diamond Status/Measures:
In order to receive Diamond Status, your facility must meet the measures listed below:
100% of staff complete module pre-test
100% of staff review the Emergency Preparedness in-service training module PowerPoint
100% of staff hold, at a minimum, biennial staff in-servicing on emergency preparedness
90% of patients complete a Patient Preparedness Questionnaire with the assistance of facility staff
100% of staff complete module post-test
